Presence of Viral DNA Reaction with Tumor Biopsy Extracts: Correlation with the Epstein-Barr Virus-specific Leukocyte Migration Inhibition
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-specific leukocyte migration in hibition (LMI) reaction was used to detect EBV antigens in human tumor biopsies in parallel with nucleic acid hybridization for EBV DNA. None of six EBV DNA-negative tumors gave any significant LMI reaction. Fourteen of 17 EBV DMA-positive tumors gave a significant difference between the migration of leukocytes from EBV-seropositive versus -seronegative donors. One tumor gave a borderline reaction. The two LMI-negatives in this group had only a marginal EBV DNA content. It is suggested that the EBVspecific LMI test may be useful for detecting EBV genomes in tissue and tumor extracts.

متن کاملThe relationship between Human Papillomavirus and Epstein-Barr virus infections with breast cancer of Iranian patients
Background: Breast cancer is the malignancy in humans and other mammals. Several risk factors are involved in their appearance such as higher hormone levels and obesity. Identification of a mouse mammary tumor virus supports a viral etiology for breast tumors in animals. Viruses have been implicated in the development of various cancers, but viral induction for formation breast cancer is contro...
متن کاملStudy on the association of Epstein - Barr virus with breast cancer in Khorramabad breast cancer patients, Iran
Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in the world, and early diagnosis of this cancer is a key factor in its treatment. This cancer is a multi-stage disease, in which viruses can play a role. EBV is known as an important factor in the development of some human cancers. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between Epstein-Barr virus, EBV, ...

Background: environmental factors may play a role in colon cancer. In this view, several studies investigated tumor samples for the presence of various viral DNA with conflictiong results. The purpose of this study is to investigate the prevalence of Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) and Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) in patients with colorectal carcinomas. Materials and methods: In this study, we co...
